Many of the aspects outlined above and those listed below helps save resources and lessen damage to the environment including:
- Over 90% of the wood used is high quality reclaimed wood dramatically reducing our need to cut down BC's old growth forests
- Extensive recycling of building and demolition waste
- Use of many building products containing recycled content including: cement fibre exterior siding (with 50 year warranty) which utilizes wood industry waste; insulation with minimum 40% recycled content; and drywall with recycled content
- Ardencraig is a fully restored and renovated character home. With exceptional design and craftsmanship, the lifetime of the building has been greatly extended.
