DIRECTIONS:
To get to Shonas House, follow the signs to Port Alberni. Go through Port Alberni and when the road comes to a T, turn right towards Tofino. After an hour and 15 minutes, that road will come to a T, turn right again towards Tofino. Drive past long beach and Pacific Sands Beach Resort and just past after the Rosy Bay development is Chesterman Beach Road turn left. (If you reach the new Wickannish Resort turn off, you have gone a little too far). Then turn left onto Thornberg Cres. We are the last house on the beach just beside the new one going up. We are the second driveway right of the condos. It is a big green house with a small sign saying 1379. It is a 2.5 - 3 hour scenic drive from Nanaimo.

The village of Tofino is located approximately 3 km north of Shonas House via the highway. The village offers the following amenities and services:

• Shopping: good selection of stores including 2 food stores, hardware store, bakeries, video rental, CIBC bank (with instabank), People Drug Mart pharmacy, Art galleries, gift shops, Liquor store (behind the bakery)

• Restaurants: excellent selection of local restaurants in various price ranges. List available at Shonas house.

• Water sports: Kyaking, surfing gear and courses are available locally. The ocean is very dangerous and has a strong current so it is recommended that you be escorted if you decide to enjoy the water sports.

• Other Services: Hospital, RCMP office, Local fire hall

• Boat Charters: Boat charters for guided fishing, whale watching, hot springs and nature tours available. Kayak rentals

Other services and facilities available within easy driving distance of Shonas House include:

• Pacific Rim National Park - including the world-famous Long Beach. Walks in the rain forest trails. Hiking.
